Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling Faculty Positions

The Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS) in Arlington, VA invites applications for anticipated faculty positions for both part-time and full-time Clinical Mental Health Counseling with start dates as early as May 2016 and no later than August 2016. In this development, IPS is dedicated to creating a unique online learning experience specifically designed for counseling. This program is in the design phase and will incorporate the unique IPS model of Catholic-Christian integration.

The positions involve counseling course development, teaching, advising and mentoring students, as well as some administrative duties and research/scholarship. Positions involve periodic on-site meetings, but mostly virtual; relocation is preferred but not required. The rank of appointment and compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Located near Washington, D.C., the Institute for the Psychological Sciences is a free-standing professional school offering master and doctoral level degrees in psychology and is studying the possibility of adding degrees in counseling and human services. We are a cutting-edge institution offering an integration of effective practice of behavioral and social sciences with a Catholic-Christian vision of the person, marriage, and the family. This position will have ongoing opportunities for professional development in learning with colleagues about integrating the social and behavioral sciences with the Catholic-Christian Faith.

Applicants must meet the following minimal criteria: (1) earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or have related doctoral degrees and have been employed as full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013 and (2) minimum of five years academic experience. Applicants need not be Catholic, but must be supportive of a Catholic-Christian worldview and committed to the mission and vision of IPS.
