Dr. Nordling is one of the founding faculty members of the Institute for the Psychological Sciences. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Virginia. He also holds a number of specialized credentials in child, marriage, and family therapy and teaches both basic and advanced coursework in these areas at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences. Dr. Nordling is an active scholar, and in addition to his many publications, he has conducted over 200 presentations and training workshops nationally and internationally. As a respected leader in the field, he has served on the Board of Directors and as President of the Association for Play Therapy, the Catholic Psychotherapy Association, and the Association for Filial and Relationship Enhancement Methods. His award winning co-authored book Child-Centered Play Therapy is widely used in the field of child therapy.
