The Scholarship FundGraduate students at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS) are fortunate to learn from outstanding professors however, for most, the cost of this education can be quite overwhelming. Our students deeply believe in our mission, and they often turn down scholarships offered at other universities in order to study here. Our student body is exceptional: their average undergraduate GPA was 3.7 at prestigious institutions such as Yale, Stanford, Notre Dame, and Oxford.
Financial aid is a critical component of an IPS education as is clearly evidenced by the fact that approximately 76% of IPS students receive some form of financial aid. Many students work part-time and/or nearly full-time jobs in addition to studying at the Institute in order to cover the over $30,000 per year cost of attendance.
Scholarships are crucial to the attraction and retention of top students as they reflect a vital part of the financial support necessary to enroll and earn a degree at IPS. Each year, the Institute gives away over $150,000 in grants, assistantships, and scholarships. It is critical that we increase the number and size of these scholarships. Most secular PhD programs offer their doctoral candidates full tuition scholarships plus a cost of living stipend. In order to make a comparable offer, we would need to raise $2,500,000.
