Mary S. Thelen Library Vision & Mission
The Mary S. Thelen Library is a modern library facility located in the first floor offices of the Institute for the Psychological Sciences, at 2001 Jefferson Davis Highway, Suite 102, Arlington, Virginia. It is dedicated to supporting the study, research, training, and instructional needs of IPS students, faculty, and staff.
Library Vision
The vision of the Mary S. Thelen Library of the Institute for the Psychological Sciences is to support through its resources and services: an effective academic and educational environment; the educational, training, and research needs of the IPS educational community; and the attainment of information literacy for lifelong learning.
Library Mission
The mission of the Library of the Institute for the Psychological Sciences is to develop and enhance its resources and services in order to provide students and faculty with quality information resources and services that support the educational, training, and research needs of the Institute’s graduate level programs. The Library will continually seek to achieve its mission by developing, maintaining, and providing access to an organized collection of traditional print and non-print collections, electronic resources and information technologies and a variety of services that support and complement: the IPS curriculum and research programs; the development of IPS students, intellectually and professionally; the attainment and continual enhancement of the highest quality educational, training, and research environment of the IPS academic community; and the documentation and dissemination of Catholic/Christian approaches to psychology.
