IPS VPN
These instructions provide guidance for installing the IPSVPN client software on your home PC which will be used to access the Online Resources of the Mary S. Thelen Library and other Resources through the Institute for the Psychological Sciences’ (IPS) Network. Perform these instructions in the order as shown (i.e., 1, 2, 3, etc…), unless the instructions dictate otherwise or a particular installation is not needed.
DOWNLOADING & INSTALLING THE VPN SOFTWAREThe following steps are to be performed on your home Desktop or Laptop Computer (only)HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE 4.6 VPN CLIENT SOFTWARE
- Go to the IPS VPN Download Page.
- Read carefully Terms and Conditions of Use and click Agree.
- Click Download button to dowload software.
- Double-click the VPN1 and VPN2 Links.
- Click Save on the File Download dialog box for each one of the files.
- Select a preferred folder location or create a new folder
(You can create a new folder by clicking the “Create a New Folder Button” then type the name when it prompts you.)
- Select Save to save the file to your preferred folder or new folder
- Once Download is completed Click Close.
- Unzip both files using WinZip or Windos XP. (Next Proceed to Install)
HOW TO INSTALL THE 4.6 VPN CLIENT SOFTWARE
- Two folders have been created from the download process. Copy the files from the VPN 1 folder into the VPN 2 folder.
- Locate/double-click the VPNCLIENT_ SET UP.EXE icon (in VPN 2) to begin the installation process.
- When the Terms of Use window pops up Click Agree.
- Click Setup in the next window. (The installation program will reboot your system)
- When installation is complete, follow the instructions in VPN Connection of this document to connect to the IPS Network.
- If you want to test your VPN connection to the IPS network, follow the instructions in section E of this document.
HOW TO CONNECT TO THE IPS VPN
- Click Start and go to Programs.
- Go to Cisco Systems VPN Client.
- Click VPN Client to open the VPN Client window.
- Click Connect.

5. When prompted, enter your
IPS username (first 4 letters of your last name + Your IPS Library User ID) and password (ips0 + Your IPS Library Password). User name and passwor

OK.
Note: The system tray at the bottom right corner on your screen will display a yellow lock in the locked position—indicating that you are successfully connected to the Institute for the Psychological Sciences network.
7. To disconnect, Right-click the yellow lock in the system tray and select
Disconnect.
