IPS Campus

The Building
The Institute for the Psychological Sciences occupies the first floor and part of the fifth floor in the Crystal Plaza One building.  Most student services (Financial Aid, the Registrar, Student Life Services, Dean of Students, and Admissions/Enrollment services), the student lounge, the Chapel, classrooms, the IPS Psychology Clinic, and the Mary S. Thelen Library are located on the first floor.  Administrative and Faculty offices (including the Business Office) are located in Suite 511.

Parking
Parking lot spaces are reserved for permit-only parking. You can find metered public parking along S. Clark Street or in underground areas designated as public parking.  Entrances to underground parking are located on Crystal Drive.  Underground parking is free to all after 5pm at the Crystal Drive entrance or from 20th Street.

Parking in permit-only spaces without a permit may cause your vehicle to be towed at your expense.  If you are visiting, please ask us about accommodations for parking.


Maintenance/Housekeeping
Building suites are cleaned at the Institute late every weekday evening. If you notice something that requires attention or is in disrepair:

If you ever see a situation of urgency (e.g. broken glass, overflowing water, large spills):

Contact the closest IPS employee and have them notify the Business Office or Vornado Management (if after hours).


Access Control
Suite 102 is protected by 24-hour electronic security at two entrances -- the Library (the entrance on 20th Street) and the Plaza side doors.  Students and employees should always use their electronic key to enter these areas between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. from Monday-Thursday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during summer hours), 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday; and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday; (except during summer hours the Institute's Library is closed on Saturdays).  Refrain from opening doors for people who you do not recognize.  Any visitors should be pointed out to Library staff or directed to Suite 511.  Be familiar with Institute policies and procedures concerning safety.


Crystal City Underground
The building where the Institute is located is connected at the G1 level to Crystal City Underground.  This underground walkway connects to stores, restaurants, public parking, banking and Metrorail.  Visit the Crystal City Shops web page for more information about services offered.
