Meet our 2008 Graduates

During the commencement ceremony, Dean Gladys Sweeney shared with the audience each graduate’s plan for the future.

MASTER’S IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Antony Bond

Antony’s immediate plans include a trip to England to visit family and friends after graduation.  Upon his return, Antony will begin an assistantship in the IPS Clinic, where he will see clients and start accruing clinical hours. In the fall, Antony will enter IPS’ doctoral program.

Maria Elena Lorenzo
Maria is planning to attend the one-year “MS-plus” practica option of the M.S. degree and then return to the Philippines.  She plans to use Catholic psychology to strengthen Filipino families, organize lectures for various counseling centers and Catholic psychologists, and write articles on the need for an integrated Catholic psychology.  Maria also plans to offer counseling services to a select number of families.

Theresa Mowbray
Theresa came to us after working two years as a FOCUS missionary, where she ministered to college students on two different campuses.  She continued her youth and adult ministry work while going to school at the Institute.  She plans to continue serving in ministry for the Church, while also praying and discerning other opportunities beyond next year.  She is considering further graduate studies or practice in child psychology.

Rebecca Showalter
Rebecca hopes to enter the Religious Sisters of Mercy in the fall, and will spend this summer with her family preparing for this decision. In this way, she seeks to give her life as well as her psychological training to Christ for the work of His Church. She is confident that her education at IPS will be of infinite value to her throughout her life.

Michael Wagner
Michael will be continuing his studies in the doctoral program at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences.  Over the summer, Michael will be working with autistic children, as well as attending Fr. Groeschel’s class at IPS.
