10th Anniversary Gala

When it comes to being grateful for 10 years of IPS, on Sunday night May 2, we didn’t need any further encouragement to do like Psalm 150 says, “Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!”

In short, the dance floor was full as more than 150 students, faculty and friends joined together in a thanksgiving gala, with an 8-piece band named Doctor’s Orders to keep everyone shimmying, shuffling, dancing (or bluffing!) and in good spirits.

Events began at 4:30 pm with the Sunday liturgy, concelebrated by IPS President, Fr. Charles Sikorsky, former president Fr. John Hopkins, and IPS student, Fr. Godwin Olugbami. The IPS choir made its debut, with about a dozen students and faculty singing including Dean Sweeney and Dr. Ross.

During the homily, Fr. Sikorsky particularly praised all the unsung heroes behind IPS, whose hard work and dedication rarely gets any spotlight. He also cited the unwavering support of spouses such as Mr. Sweeney and Mr. Flynn, whose wives Dr. Sweeney and Nancy continue to keep anyone from getting complacent as IPS marches into its second decade.
