Exciting Career News for Recent Alumnus and Current Doctoral Student
Kate Ebeler, M.S. Clinical Psychology (Practicum certificate), class of 2010
After completing my externship this spring at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD, the university offered me the new position of Assistant University Counselor. I will be one of only two counselors providing mental health services to the student population.
My responsibilities include counseling students one-on-one, running two therapy groups each semester, and implementing Residence Hall programs several times a month on special topics.
I’m also in discussion with the university to lead a monthly gathering of psychology and sociology students called "Faith in Professions". The purpose of this program is to help students integrate their faith into their studies and discuss how faith impacts possible professions.

Margaret Laracy, M.S. Clinical Psychology, Doctoral Student
This summer I’ll be teaching at the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City. The course is called "Psicoterapia de Pareja y Familia". It’s an intensive graduate level course that will cover dimensions of philosophical and theological anthropology and the application of those themes in the areas of marital and family therapy, the treatment of pornography addiction, and the treatment of women who have been through abortions.
In the fall I’ll begin an internship at the Outreach Community Counseling Center, an APA-accredited site, that is part of the Chicago Area Christian Training Consortium.
