Chastity Subject of Dean's Talk
Dean Gladys Sweeney addressed participants at the 47th Annual National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors during their Sept. 13-17 meeting in Milwaukee, WI.
Titled Assisting the Candidate in Growth in Chastity, Dean Sweeney detailed the overly sexualized quality of the prevailing culture and its possible effects on the candidates for the celibate life of the priesthood. In addition, the dean discussed the psychological and neurological challenges of the unchaste and offered practical ways to help the seminarian exercise self-mastery and remain chaste.
