Dr. Philip Scrofani Named Associate Professor

The evening of Nov. 9, 2009,  was filled with toasts, applause and wishes of congratulations for one of our faculty members as the Institute for the Psychological Sciences paused to share in the news of Dr. Philip Scrofani being named Associate Professor.

Members of the IPS community joined Dr. Scrofani in the student lounge to offer words of gratitude and admiration for a professor dedicated to the Institute's mission of “the renewal of the Christian intellectual tradition and the development of a psychology consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.”

After thanking those in attendance, Dr. Scrofani lifted his glass and offered a toast in memory of his father who “never went beyond a fourth grade education”.

Dr. Scrofani is also the Director of Clinical Training at IPS and is currently involved in the training of 32 physicians in residency for psychiatry for the Department of Mental Health in Washington, DC.  Dr. Scrofani has been in private practice since 1973.
