New IPS Diversity Committee Launches Series of Talks
Under the guidance of Assistant Director of Clinical Training Joanna Marino, Ph.D., the new IPS Diversity Committee is offering a series of talks throughout the academic year.
The Committee is composed of representatives from the faculty, administration, staff, and student body to discuss issues related to diversity on campus and in the larger field of psychology.
The mission of the Diversity Committee is to promote an appreciation of diversity on campus through dialogue, didactic opportunities, and self-reflection.
The talks are held from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. in Classroom 1 and are open to the IPS community, with complimentary lunch provided.

- June 13, 2011 – “Cultural and Ethnic Factors when Working With an Inner City Youth Population” presented by Yanique Lockhart-Walker, Psy.D.
- September 30, 2011 – “Reflections on Empathy Working with LGBT Populations” presented by IPS faculty member Joanna Marino, Ph.D.
- October 27, 2011 -- “Korean Culture, Immigrant Families, and Psychological Practices” presented by Jeeyoung Ahn, Psy.D.
- November 4, 2011 -- "Therapeutic Consideration When Working With Jewish Clients” presented by Ivy F. Weitzner, LCSW / LICSW
- January 27, 2012 – "Autism: Beyond Stereotypes" presented by Patrick Graveline, Psy.D. (IPS Class of 2006)
