IPS Granted SACS Reaffirmation
The Institute for the Psychological Sciences learned on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 it has been reaffirmed for accreditation for another 10 years by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Reaffirmation was granted without recommendations, successfully meeting all 86 SACS standards and requirements.
"Reaffirmation is a process that all colleges and universities go through five years after their initial accreditation. It means that we are in full compliance with the academic, administrative and governance criteria that are expected from quality institutions of higher education," said IPS President Fr. Charles Sikorsky, LC, JD, JCL.
The exhaustive process of earning and maintaining SACS accreditation is confirmation of the Institute's continuing pursuit towards excellence.
Fr. Sikorsky continued, "As a young and developing institution founded only 11 years ago, this is wonderful news for IPS."
